Exhibition Concept:
Due to the delay in the development of the large-scale facilities, contemporary arts in Thailand had been exhibited mainly at relatively small spaces such as artist-run or alternative spaces and university-affiliated galleries until a huge complex “Bangkok Art and Culture Centre” (BACC) opened in July 2008. This 1,000 square-meter facility on three floors of a nine-story building demands exhibition projects that take advantage of the space. For this purpose, cooperation from Japan has been increasingly sought after. This exhibition is an opportunity to show young curators and artists in Thailand how to organize a large-scale exhibition by collaborating within the planning and implementing a project of such nature. We hope it will result in the next collaborative project in the region.
